By Mark St. Germain

DETAILS:
Frank and Katrina Basile Theatre • Midwest Premiere

ABOUT THE PLAY:
On the day that England enters the second
World War, legendary psychoanalyst Dr. Sigmund Freud, just weeks before he takes his own life, invites the young, rising author C. S. Lewis to his home in London. Love, sex, the existence of God and the meaning of life are just a few of the topics covered in this deeply touching play filled with the humor. and heart of two brilliant men.

“Deftly directed by William Fisher, Freud’s Last Session stars Gordon McCall (who directed last season’s Norway) as Freud and Phoenix regular Scot Greenwell as Lewis. McCall and Greenwell's characterizations of the feisty, occasionally cranky Freud and the mild-mannered, measured Lewis, were believable and well-drawn.”
– Tom Alvarez, The Examiner

"The actors (Gordon McCall as Freud and Scot Greenwell as C.S. Lewis) expertly disappear into their characters and... still hold captive
our full attention throughout."
– John Belden, East of Indy
