ABOUT THE PLAY:
To a teen, nothing is more profound than sex.
In Spring Awakening, the rock musical adaptation of Frank Wedekind’s controversial late nineteenth-century German novel, adolescents discover the inner and outer tumult of their sensuality. Abortion, homosexuality, rape, child abuse and suicide are all addressed in the folk-infused score and the angst-infused characters.
